Mrs. Putnam's physical appearance and features are never described in any detail, but Miller's introduction of her does give us some clues. When the Putnams arrive at Reverend Parris's house, Miller writes, "Enter Mrs. Ann Putnam. She is a twisted soul of forty-five, a death-ridden woman, haunted by dreams."
